Rev. Traci deVon Blackmon

The Reverend Traci Blackmon’s life assignment is to advance God’s agenda in the earth through servant leadership that encourages and empowers people to live their faith. She is thankful to live out this calling as the proud Pastor and Teacher of Christ at the King United Church of Christ in Florissant, Missouri.

Initially ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Rev. Blackmon served in various capacities of ministry for 9 years, prior to becoming the 18th installed and first woman pastor in the 159 year history of Christ The King United Church of Christ.

As a licensed Registered Nurse with over 35 years experience in health care, Rev. Blackmon serves the community in a variety of professional positions as well. Currently, she is also employed as the Coordinator of faith-based initiatives for BJC HealthCare and serves on several boards and health initiatives that target the advancement and empowerment of underserved women and children.

Why I'm Serving: 
“I believe in the inherent good of all people and, although there are many systemic and structural challenges that must be addressed, commitment, collaboration, and authentic conversation will lead us toward the Ferguson that some residents experience and other residents only imagine. My clinical and pastoral backgrounds equip me to positively contribute to this goal and I want to be part of this healing work.”
